A last minute invite from Wuz to join her and John allowed me to go clubbing this weekend right after the Regurgitator concert.
[Experiences]
The line – no real issues. Idle chit chat passed the time while lining up, though it took a while. Had a random debate with a girl in front about how she should be using Dirt Power instead of Dirt, as her choice of shampoo.
I was wearing my old high school glasses, as I had lost my original prescriptions the week before @ Karma. I felt like a dork. I felt like the old James from high school. In some ways today I still do, but with the glasses, I felt more so. Also since it was so last minute, I didn’t even think about bringing something to accessorize my outfit with. I was just another John Doe in the crowd.
There was little chance to stand out as it was so packed on the floor. The bar was packed, the floor was packed, and the toilets were packed.
Was that scrambled eggs or eggs benedict?
One of John’s friends took some pills and was on a high. He kept farting. Fuck it stank. It really disrupted things, but it was funny… sort of !
It’s getting hot in here
I was heating up bad. The combination of sweat, B.O , a low level room, lack of air con, made it hot real fast. The shirt had to go off. Luckily I had a t-shirt underneath. (It was my Industrie one though, and considering I’m flat chested, it wasn’t a shirt I was planning to show off until I get the matching pectorals.)
I didn’t want to put the shirt around my waist, nor in the cloak area. So I put it on my head. It worked. People started giving me weird looks. After a few minutes of prancing, the floor somehow widened and I had a small 2×2 dance area for me to run around in. People were terrified of me. I mean, who dances with their shirt wrapped around their head?
Well shortly after they wanted to go. So I had to follow suit. Shame, I was getting used to my new role as dancefloor terrorist.

Recommendation
I would say check it out if you like rnb and old school hip hop. $20 is pushing it though as there is only one big crowded room. Better value than pumphouse though.

Hunter plays house music on Fridays, I don’t know about Saturdays – Early last year XO @ Hunter Bar moved to St James, where it subsequently died. It may have moved back. But it wasn’t not contemporary rnb, it was more Rap and Hip Hop that night – sorry I couldn’t help you more with this.
Found out some news – the XO crew has officially moved back this weekend to Hunter Bar for their Saturday night events.
The event is now called HQ, and the music is strictly Hip Hop (ie focus on rap), so do not expect much RnB. I am still not sure what is on Friday nights.
