Shameful, that I keep returning to this place.  I can’t help it – its free. I am surprised though, that the upstairs club floor is actually packed! It really must be schoolies.. the poor kids.

01:45AM-02:30AM - Getting the party started! (by M, who was with me tonight) 
James decides we should see what’s happening down at Jackson’s on George nearby. So we march on over there. At ground level there’s not a lot going on. Mostly it is an older crowd here, who only came for a few quiet beers. The DJ is in an isolated corner going solo, since hardly anyone is dancing to his tunes. James marches right up there and struts his stuff. I jump up there and together we increase the dancing population at Jackson’s to a grand total of 2. People downstairs stare with amusement at the spectacle. Eventually we are noticed by a middle aged woman whom I suspect has grown bored of nursing her drink all night with her equally middle aged mates and she slowly sidles over to our corner where we are dancing and joins us. She then encourages her friends to join us. They filter in one by one here and there. Before long, the small space at the DJ stand is packed with life and epic dancing. Ground level at Jackson’s on George has never seen anything like it. We leave our new friends for a moment to see what’s happening upstairs. We are surprised to see it is quite populated and not what we have come to expect each time we have visited Jackson’s. The DJ is playing House, trance and Electro and laying it down nicely. The ventilation is poor up here though and it is noticeably more humid than downstairs. We leave because the heat became uncomfortable in a hurry. We exit Jackson’s and go back to Sienna at Establishment. James looks back as we are leaving and sees a dismayed crowd staring after us, sorry to see us go!

03:00AM-04:00AM – The return (by M) 
When we return to Jackson’s on George, the small crowd is seen excitedly cheering as we enter! A hero’s welcome if there ever was one! They motion us over to their little circle and we dance and bask in our collective awesomeness. The DJ is playing the most bizarre assortment of hits in any club ever. At one point John Farnham’s “The Voice” was heard; and Prince’s “Kiss” among a string of other tunes from the crazy 80’s. We all sing along and jam on our air guitars and go spastic just cause we can.

The Student
A woman wanted me to teach her to dance. Then she wanted me to copy another couple dancing. The couple weren’t dancing – they were making out. Um, no thank you Been there done that!

Evil security
Security were literally hovering at the dancefloor. Any sign of drunkedness people were kicked out. Fun factor killed, but I guess it is for the safety for the 5 or so other people down here.

Atmosphere

Nothing much has changed except there were heaps of people on the dancefloor! Amazing. The epileptic strobe lighting was still here, giving patrons small headaches, the music was still loud as well. It was pretty dark in here as well. see the video:

Free grind!!
I stood there on the top podium doing a little dance, and suddenly I feel a girls breasts grind behind me. She’s pretty aggressive, and that can only mean one thing – a drunk girl!! Woohoo!! I turn around and with excitement face my suitor, who turned out to be drunk alright – but one knows when a short fat chick is grinding you.

Soon after we left to go home.

We checked out Jackson’s on George first, but geez we didn’t even last one minute there. The amount of strobing that they lay on your poor eyes is probably close to illegal levels (if there were such levels in place):

Dress Code: Casual, hats allowed out back. Depending on the bouncer on watch, inside as well. SK was waring thongs!
Drinks: Special mention goes to the price of drinks which have gone up due to the recent alcopop tax I think $15 for a bottle of Smirnoff double black!! WTF! that’ s up from a typical $8 or $9 -.- At least the bar staff were nice enough to tell us about the price hikes. Well not that I drink that much but I suppose the $900 government stimulus would help some alcoholics out there. Between 8pm and 11pm though its $4 drinks for some house selections.

Review

Music RNB: No complaints. Just a normal Dj paying tracks. I wasn’t paying much attention. He did interact with the crowd though, which was pleasing.

Music House: Same as above.

Atmosphere
We got in around midnight, and it wasn’t that spectacular. Probably around 20 or 30 people. Around 1-2am, it reached its peak, where lots of people were coming in and were going out back as well. Atmosphere during these times were very good – everyone was having a bit of a dance or a snog.

an Eastern European perspective on girls.
SK was amazed by how all the girls wore dresses – at the club, especially at a general normal club such as this! She was wearing casual jeans and a baggy t-shirt with flats. Very.. hot. She comments that at home the Czechoslovakian girls don’t really wear anything sexy or fancy at all. Sounds like a place to avoid for clubbing if I ever take that European trip.

Dancing
Most of the time was just spent dancing around. We joined up to dance with another two girls and we all danced away in the main room til close. We went out back for a break but SK wasn’t really into the house music that was playing. I was going at it on the floor like a rabbit about to die from the latest virus going around. The crowd out back isn’t that large (about 5 to 10 people at any given time) and its because of this, that its quite friendly actually. It’s bizarre, but it gives a better experience.

Coda
We left our friends at 3.30am, happily danced out.

The nightclub level was playing some wierd rnb stuff , plus it was dead. So we went downstairs to the pub level where they were playing rnb as well as retro anthems. It was fully packed and going off.

Someone bought Woolie a drink and we had to leave before she finished it.. we lasted 30 minutes I.

Me and Woolie danced for about an hour. The DJ played off his CD collection mostly commercial house music. It was good, I knew the songs so we sang along. Here are some photos of Orient:

After this photo the one on the right ran down George St wearing the sunnies. It was a 5 minute chase down the road and beg to get my sunnies back.

Details
The DJ played the normal commercial house songs that we all love. We danced.  The dance area isn’t that big but it provides a cosy atmosphere. A TV screen on the otherside of the bar has a camera fixated on the podium area. The podium area lies along the wall. Me and Darrin did some prancing up there so Cindy and co could watch us. I didn’t get much of a chance to do much else though. We didn’t attend for long (1am-2am so I guess we had missed the peak period) .

Summary
I would come back here for a nice free night close to the rocks.
