Fridays @ Mounties (5th June 2009)

On June 5, 2009, in House, Mounties, RnB, by J T

After dinner. I was planning to go home to rest for We Love Sound the next day. Friends took me to Mounties instead.

Fridays @ Mounties (assessment time midnight)
Address: 101 Meadows Road, Mt Pritchard
Web: www.mounties.com.au
Music: rnb, house, pop. Dj picked some good songs, but there was only one Dj booth so all the msuic came from here.
Crowd: Mixed nationalities and ages.. old and young. Mostly asians though.
Atmosphere: Dancefloor is small but busy. Generally the place was pretty busy with people. Was good.
Entry Fee / Cover Charge: None. Membership to Mounties is required if you live within 5km of the area.
Dress Code: Casual allowed. No hats. Standard club/rsl dress code applied.

Timeline
First impressions.. its not bad for a Friday night club/rsl. The floor was packed, and when we walked outside to the quite large smoking area patio area, there were people spread everywhere. Bar was very busy as well. I bumped into a friend, who used to come here before refurbishment. He said its much busier now than it was before, but that only on Fridays it was busy. On Saturdays, people were out in the city.

Making a boyfriend jealous
I dont know why, but when we walked onto the dancefloor, a girl starts to randomly starts to dance with us. I start to dance back with her. I stop dancing with her when I realise she kept looking over her shoulder to her boyfriend, who is literally one metre away from me. Bugger.

All types of people were here
Old, young, asian, aussie, fat, skinny – it was basically an open door policy here. Because of this, there weren’t many hot chicks at all. Honestly, the hottest ones were the two friends I came with. You can tell this when everybody in their lounges is staring at them. This was probably the best looking girl I could find on the dancefloor at the time. This is what you’re sort of dealing with:

The prettiest girl on the floor and her friend at Mounties

The prettiest girl on the floor and her friend at Mounties

I can’t remember why my tongue was green. I think it was a lollipop I ate – not very attractive in hindsight.

There were other hotties in the place but they weren’t dancing.

Blowing bubbles
We won some bubble things, where you can blow bubbles from. So each of us, armed with a bubble wand, walked around the dancefloor blowing bubbles in the air. I don’t think anyone didn’t mind, and most people responded favourably and actually liked it! I wasn’t so sure if security liked it though- they were constantly looking towards us to see if our bubbles would create trouble. Need to try bubbles more often when I’m out clubbing.  It’s probably only annoying when it hits someone in the eye and they develop an allergic reaction to it.

Coda
I dont think there was much dancefloor time. We left at around 2am because friends were protesting they were tired. Sucks to be energetic.

haha yeah.. we went upstairs to the arcade area .. i won 80 tokens on ‘Deal or no deal’, and so we used it to get some bubbles 🙂

Did you know bubbles was also the name of Michael Jackson’s monkey?

  2. Kat says:

LOL interesting.. i work at mounties and find that place pretty boring. but overall for a local club its okayy. no had no idea that MJs monkeys name was bubble and i dont think i could careless.

  3. James says:

Ahh well that explains it 🙂 if my work held a dance party every week here in the office up here, I think it would probably be pretty boring as well! Mounties was alright on the night I went, and is probably a default place to go if you ever found yourself out west in that area.

Just curious, you don’t have to answer – are employees allowed to boogie amongst the patrons? 🙂

  4. Jaydee says:

OMG LOL IS THAT NURIJE IN THE PHOTO WITH YOU!?
    LMAOO

  5. James says:

I got NO idea who Nurije is. But I guess its her!
